Objectives

The goal of the CIS 2010 is to bring together experts from the field of cybernetics and intelligent systems to discuss on the state-of-the-art and to present new research findings and perspectives of future developments with respect to the conference themes. The CIS 2010 is held together with the IEEE Conference on Robotics, Automation and Mechatronics (RAM 2010). The conference welcomes paper submissions from researchers, practitioners, and students in but not limited to the following areas:

Cybernetics Control of Uncertain Systems, Cooperative Systems and Control, Multi-Agent Systems, Discrete Event Systems, Supervisory Control, Hybrid Systems, Networked Dynamical Systems, Mechatronics.
Intelligence Computational Intelligence, Swarm Intelligence, Soft Computing, Fuzzy Systems, Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithm, Evolutionary Computation, Image Processing, Computer Vision
Systems

System Modeling & Control, Smart Sensor Networks, Power Systems, Environmental Systems, Systems Biology, Human/Machine Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Manufacturing Systems, Decision Support Systems

Upon acceptance, the authors have to register and present their papers at the conference. Only papers that are both registered and presented will be published in the conference proceedings which will then be indexed in the IEEE Library, ISI Proceedings and EI Compendex database. Selected papers will be recommended for Journal publications after substantial revisions.

Selection of the best conference paper will be made at the Conference based on both the technical content and presentation. The winner will be chosen by the Award Committee in consultation with the International Advisory Committee.

Invited
Sessions

In additional to accepting regular papers, the conference will feature invited sessions on specialized topics of interests. The invited sessions are intended to usher in, in-depth discussions in special areas relevant to the conference theme. The session organizers will coordinate the associated review process. The conference proceedings will include all papers from the invited sessions.

To organize an invited session, please do the following steps:

  1. Identify a special topic (in the field of your expertise) that is within the topics of interest for CIS 2010, and give a title to your intended invited session. Then, send the information to the Invited Sessions Chair (CIS), Prof. Kay Chen Tan with your name, title and affiliation as soon as possible.
  2. Upon approval, you may begin to write to researchers who you think are able to submit good papers consistent with your special area of the invited sessions.
  3. Submit a summary of the Invited Sessions to the Invited Sessions Chair (CIS), Prof. Kay Chen Tan by January 18, 2010. The summary should include the following: Title of the invited session, titles of papers, names, titles and affiliations of the authors/co-authors for each paper.

An invited session should ideally have about 5 to 6 papers. Even if you could only get less than this, proceed on as we could help to find a couple more to fit into your invited session. The invited session organizers may be requested to organize the paper review process.
